Sheana Shay Opens Up About Love, Life, and Lessons from Quarantine
In a recent episode of Heal Squad with Maria Menounos, Vanderpump Rules star Sheana Shay sat down for a candid conversation about love, career, and personal growth during quarantine. With her signature authenticity, Sheana shared insights on relationships, fertility, and learning to set boundaries in both personal and professional spaces.
Quarantine: The Unexpected Relationship Test
Sheana, who spent quarantine in Palm Springs with her boyfriend Brock, her sister, and her sister’s boyfriend, reflected on how the experience fast-tracked their relationship.
“I would never move in with someone in the first six months of dating,” Sheana admitted. “But quarantine forces you to adapt, and for us, it actually strengthened our bond.”
She highlighted the importance of communication and patience, explaining that while they had their fair share of disagreements over small things—like unplugging the garage fridge—their ability to talk through conflicts brought them closer.
Fertility and Family Planning: A New Perspective
A topic close to Sheana’s heart is fertility. Having undergone two rounds of egg freezing, she is considering a third—this time with Brock.
“We’ve talked about making embryos together,” she revealed. “But after speaking to psychics who all say I’ll conceive naturally, I’m trying to stay open to whatever happens.”
Sheana’s transparency about her fertility journey is refreshing, especially as egg freezing and reproductive health continue to be critical conversations for women in their 30s.
Reality TV and Learning to Set Boundaries
Despite her success, Sheana has faced challenges in the Vanderpump Rules universe. She opened up about how editing on the show often portrayed her unfairly, making her look one-dimensional and overly focused on relationships.
“I’ve worked so hard for years, and yet a lot of that gets overlooked,” she said. “Meanwhile, new cast members walk on and get their careers featured instantly.”
Her frustrations reached a breaking point when an editor admitted to purposefully skewing her portrayal. While the editor was later let go, Sheana found validation in knowing that her instincts about the editing process were correct.
“I may be boy crazy, but I’m not crazy,” she said with a laugh. “At least now people know the truth.”
Embracing Growth and Moving Forward
With a fresh outlook, Sheana is focusing on her personal happiness and professional expansion. Between her podcast Shenanigans, her YouTube channel, and potential future TV opportunities, she’s proving that she is much more than just a reality TV personality.
As for Vanderpump Rules, Sheana is ready for a shift.
“This time, I’m going to be more outspoken, more confident, and unapologetically myself,” she said. “No more letting people walk all over me.”
