WWE’s Charlotte Flair on Breast Augmentation and Health

Charlotte Flair, one of WWE’s most dominant superstars, has never been a stranger to injuries. However, her latest health battle was one she never anticipated—one that went beyond the wrestling ring and into her personal well-being. She opened up to friend Maria Menounos on her podcast, and shared her journey along with some helpful information. Flair detailed her experience with a ruptured breast implant, a complication she unknowingly endured for months before finally seeking medical attention.

The Initial Surgery and Unexpected Complication

Like many young women, Flair sought breast augmentation at the age of 21, having always wanted a fuller figure. “I had an athletic body my whole life,” she explained. “I never had boobs.” Excited to make the change, she underwent the procedure with saline implants, never expecting that wrestling would put them at risk.

Years later, during her career in WWE, she suffered an unexpected mishap. “I popped them in the ring,” Flair revealed. “I woke up the next morning, and they were gone.” Though surprised, she underwent a revision surgery to replace the implants and continued her in-ring career without further concern—until recently.

Recognizing the Symptoms

A few months ago, Flair began experiencing persistent pain behind her shoulder blade. “This is not normal,” she recalled thinking. As a professional athlete, she remained diligent about stretching, shoulder stability exercises, and following her trainers’ recommendations. Yet, the pain didn’t subside.

Seeking medical guidance, she underwent a mammogram and ultrasound, which revealed shocking results: both implants had ruptured, leaving free-floating silicone throughout her chest. “The doctor told me I had silicone all over, even in my armpit,” Flair said.

The Decision to Push Through

Despite the concerning diagnosis, Flair had major career moments on the horizon—WrestleMania, ESPN’s Body Issue, and other high-profile opportunities. “I just wasn’t going to say anything,” she admitted. Determined to keep going, she endured worsening pain and even suffered bouts of illness, which she now suspects may have been linked to the silicone leakage.

Finally, after months of waiting, Flair underwent surgery to have the implants redone just over four weeks ago. Now, on the path to recovery, she’s taking a proactive approach to her health and well-being.

A Lesson in Listening to Your Body

Flair’s experience highlights an important message: athletes—and women in general—must prioritize their health. “I did everything I was supposed to do, but sometimes you just have to listen to your body,” she said. The wrestling star’s journey serves as a reminder that even the strongest among us need to take time for self-care and medical attention when something feels off.
