Candace Cameron Bure on Finding Light in Challenging Times
Amid an uncertain world, actress, author, and Hallmark star Candace Cameron Bure remains a steadfast beacon of faith and positivity. In an interview with Maria Menounos on Heal Squad, Candace shared insights on family, faith, and how she’s using her platform to uplift others during difficult times.
Embracing Family Time in Quarantine
When the pandemic hit, Candace went from being an empty nester to having a “full house” again, as all three of her children returned home. While some might find the sudden shift overwhelming, Candace embraced the opportunity to reconnect with her family.
“We cook together, eat every meal together, and just enjoy each other’s company,” she shared. “It’s really special time that we wouldn’t have had otherwise.”
Like many, Candace has used this pause to reflect on what truly matters. “I always say family is most important, but now I’m realizing how much more time I can spend with them. It’s been a gift.”
Faith as a Guiding Force
As a devout Christian, Candace turns to prayer for strength and guidance. “Every night, I pray for a swift resolution to this pandemic,” she said. “I pray for our healthcare workers, grocery store workers, and everyone putting themselves at risk.”
Her belief in God’s plan helps her navigate uncertainty. “God doesn’t force us to believe in Him; He gives us free will. But He is always there, waiting for us to turn to Him. That’s what gives me peace.”
Hope Rising: A Benefit Concert for the Soul
In response to the growing need for hope and encouragement, Candace and her brother, Kirk Cameron, organized Hope Rising, a benefit concert featuring some of the biggest names in Christian music. Despite initial network hesitations over faith-based content, the event found a home on Facebook Live.
“People are seeking hope now more than ever, and faith provides that,” Candace explained. “This concert is about lifting spirits and reminding people they’re not alone.”
Adjusting to a Changing Entertainment Industry
As the film and television industry grapples with safety concerns, Candace is unsure when production will resume. With seven Hallmark movies lined up for the year, she hopes for a return by September but acknowledges the challenges ahead.
“Filming is intimate—actors can’t wear masks on camera,” she pointed out. “Sets have never been the cleanest places, and I think that’s something the industry will have to address moving forward.”
Despite the uncertainty, Candace remains hopeful. “I trust in God’s timing. Things will unfold as they’re meant to.”
Prioritizing Mental and Spiritual Well-being
To maintain a sense of peace, Candace incorporates daily prayer, Bible study, and worship music into her routine. “I fill my mind with uplifting content,” she said. “It makes a huge difference in how I approach each day.”
She encourages others to explore faith, whether through prayer, reading scripture, or simply opening their hearts. “Now is the time to lean into faith. It’s never too late to find your way.”
