Candace Cameron Bure: Faith, as a Foundation

In a time where the world feels uncertain and chaotic, finding hope, faith, and connection has never been more essential. Actress, producer, and author Candace Cameron Bure joined Heal Squad with Maria Menounos to share how she’s navigating life during the pandemic, embracing faith, and finding joy in the simple moments with her family.

From Empty Nest to Full House Again

For Bure, quarantine life was an unexpected shift from being an empty-nester to having her home filled with family once again. “All three of my kids are home,” she shared. “We went from just my husband and me to suddenly having everyone back, and it’s been really special.”

Bure described how their new routine revolves around meals, quality time, and rediscovering each other’s presence. “We cook together, have breakfast, lunch, and dinner as a family, and spend time just talking or playing board games,” she said. “It’s reminded me how much I value our family time and how easy it is to take it for granted.”

Faith as a Foundation

As a devout Christian, Bure has relied on her faith to stay centered in these challenging times. She emphasized how prayer and worship are essential elements of her daily life. “I pray every night for a swift resolution to this pandemic,” she said. “I pray for healthcare workers, grocery store workers, and everyone who’s putting their lives at risk for us.”

Faith, she believes, is a powerful source of strength and comfort, and she encourages others to explore spirituality in whatever form resonates with them. “People are searching for something deeper right now,” Bure observed. “I think many are looking for guidance, and faith offers a kind of peace and reassurance.”

Hope Rising: A Benefit Concert for the Soul

Bure is using her platform to bring hope and encouragement to others. Alongside her brother, actor Kirk Cameron, she has helped organize Hope Rising, a benefit concert featuring some of the biggest names in Christian music. The event, streaming on Facebook Live, is designed to uplift spirits and offer messages of faith during uncertain times.

“We watched some of the televised concerts recently and felt like something was missing,” Bure explained. “We wanted to create an event that included God in the conversation because so many people are turning to faith for answers and comfort.”

Despite initial roadblocks—including major networks pulling out due to concerns about religious content—Bure and her team forged ahead. “We knew this was important, and we weren’t going to let that stop us,” she said. “Faith content is exactly what people are looking for right now.”

Lessons from Quarantine: Slowing Down and Being Present

Like many, Bure has used this time to reassess her priorities. “This experience has made me realize just how much time I could be spending with my family,” she admitted. “I’ve always said family is my number one priority, but now I see even more clearly how much I can be present with them.”

She also shared the challenges of balancing work and home life. “I’m always thinking about the next project, the next thing I have to do,” she said. “But this time has forced me to slow down and just be in the moment.”

The Future of Hollywood Post-Pandemic

As an actress, Bure is also grappling with the uncertainty surrounding the entertainment industry’s return. “I was in the middle of a Hallmark movie when we shut down,” she revealed. “I have seven more films lined up for the year, but everything is on hold.”

Given the nature of film sets—where close contact is inevitable—Bure acknowledged that the industry might take longer to recover than others. “I think we may be one of the last to come back because of the proximity we work in,” she said. “It’s going to be interesting to see how we adapt.”

Staying Positive in a Changing World

Despite the uncertainty, Bure remains optimistic. “I believe this year is still going to be amazing,” she said. “I keep telling myself that, and I really do believe it.”

Her advice for those struggling with fear or anxiety? Focus on gratitude and keep faith at the forefront. “We don’t always have the answers, but we can choose to trust that things will work out,” she said. “And in the meantime, we can appreciate the blessings we do have.”
